Collaborati 5.6, the eBilling portal that feeds TeamConnect, adds a linked resubmission workflow for rejected invoices across manual, LEDES and PDF submission paths, replacing the old unlinked Copy action with a Resubmit button. Resubmitted invoices now carry the Original Invoice primary key and the TeamConnect Invoice primary key automatically, and a flagged LEDES resubmission is blocked when the file's client does not match the client on the original rejected invoice.

Why it matters: Legal ops and AP teams get a traceable chain from each rejected invoice to its corrected version across Collaborati and TeamConnect, which cuts manual relinking and duplicate invoice risk during bill review. The client match check stops a firm's resubmission from being attached to another client's rejected invoice.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified. Type: Product / capability.

Evidence: Vendor documentation

Source: AI Legal Index change log.

StrongSuit published StrongSuit for Outlook (version 1.0.0.0) on Microsoft Marketplace, an add in for Outlook on the web, Windows and Mac that drafts a reply to the open email using the documents and email history of the linked StrongSuit matter. Users can connect an Outlook folder to a matter so every reply in that folder starts with that matter's context, then refine the draft in one click or with their own instruction. The listing states the add in never sends email and never changes recipients, subject or attachments.

Why it matters: It carries matter context into client, opposing counsel and court correspondence, and the no send design keeps a lawyer as the final reviewer of every message. The listing says the add in can read and modify the active message, so firms should check email and client confidentiality policies before rollout.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified. Type: Integration / interoperability.

Evidence: Vendor documentation

Source: AI Legal Index change log.

Quilia connected to CreoRx, a medication on lien pharmacy network, so a firm can send a client's prescription card request from the case's Treatment > Prescriptions tab, or let clients request a card from the Quilia app. Quilia matches existing CreoRx cards to cases in a daily check, shows card status and pharmacy numbers in the client app, and adds prescriptions filled on the card to the case with their fill dates. Only admins can switch on client requests, Quilia records who enabled it and when, and a case manager approves each request in CreoRx before the card activates.

Why it matters: Personal injury firms that fund client medication on lien can track card status and filled prescriptions inside the case record instead of a separate vendor portal. The admin only toggle and case manager approval step keep the firm in control of what clients can start on their own.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified.

SimpleDocs, Law Insider's parent, launched Risk Review 2.0 in SimpleAI, the engine inside the Law Insider Word Add in. It adds a lightweight review profile, a configurable Primary issues checklist (auto renewal, choice of law, use of data for AI training, unlimited liability and more) with custom checks, and a Market review powered by the Law Insider database that flags nonstandard or aggressive terms outside the checklist. Each flagged issue gets a risk level and a Fix action that generates a suggested redline the user can modify, dismiss or apply.

Why it matters: Legal teams get a structured first pass review of lower risk agreements without building a full playbook, with market deviations judged against Law Insider's precedent database rather than only the team's own rules. Redlines are proposed, not auto applied, so the lawyer keeps the decision.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified. Type: Product / capability.

Evidence: Vendor announcement

Source: AI Legal Index change log.

Case Status published a live Confido integration that lets a case manager start a settlement disbursement from inside Case Status, with the client receiving the funds digitally in the firm's branded Case Status app instead of by paper check. The client enters bank details directly with Confido, and the page states this release covers settlement disbursements only, not client to firm payments.

Why it matters: Contingency and personal injury firms can close the payout step in the same channel clients already use, cutting check handling and keeping client bank details out of staff email and text. Firms need accounts on both platforms, and funds still move through Confido's disbursement flow rather than a Case Status ledger.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified. Epiq states the Canopy platform will be integrated into its Epiq AI suite and made accessible through Epiq Service Cloud, with Canopy engineers joining to build Epiq AI for Cyber. Former Canopy COO Adi Elliott becomes Epiq VP, Product Management, Cyber.

Why it matters: Breach counsel, review providers and insurers using Canopy now contract with Epiq, and access and roadmap move into Epiq AI and Epiq Service Cloud, so buyers should confirm standalone availability, data handling terms and regional AWS deployments under the new owner.

Impact: High. The control requires the Enterprise plan or the Enterprise Charts add on.

Why it matters: Legal teams can limit who inside the organization sees a given ownership view without reworking entity level permissions.

Advocacy released Promptless, which proposes litigation tasks on its own when a document production arrives, opposing counsel sends a letter or a deadline approaches, drawing on connected documents, email, calendars and dockets. It classifies incoming documents and flags contradictions with the case theory, runs multistep research including EDGAR, drafts outlines and edits, and calculates deadlines from docket entries showing the governing rule and arithmetic. Every proposed action stays unconfirmed until an attorney accepts it, and the platform keeps an audit trail of human and AI contributions tied to the team's approved reading of each document. Promptless is model agnostic, so firms can bring their own model, and teams set per matter and per client which work the AI may do, where approval is required, which sections stay lawyer only and what information the AI may see.

Why it matters: Litigation teams get AI work started without writing prompts while keeping attorney approval as a hard gate, which matters for supervision duties. The contribution level audit trail gives partners, general counsel and insurers a record of who directed each judgment.

Impact: High. Verification: Verified.

August launched August for Agents in beta, which lets a client company's software agents send a bounded legal question to a service that the client's law firm builds and supervises on August. The firm's agent checks the relevant agreement and playbook and returns a sourced answer with an execution record, or routes the matter to a lawyer when judgment is needed. Controls include scoped tools, recipients and data sources, firm defined escalation rules, and identity, permission and retention settings set per client, firm and service.

Why it matters: It spells out which questions the system may answer without a lawyer and when it must escalate, the oversight question a firm has to settle before exposing AI services to clients. Access is by contact during the beta, so availability and pricing are not yet public.

Impact: High. Verification: Partially Verified. Three new iOS APIs (setAttOptOutLevel, setShowAttOptOutWindow, setAttOptOutLockCategories) control which categories are rejected and locked when a user declines Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and a new getWebCookie() function returns consent cookie values on Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native.

Why it matters: This changes what the SDK decides on a user's behalf without any user action, so legal teams should confirm their per region consent models and default categories match their own legal position before the new behavior takes effect in their apps.

Impact: Medium.

Legito release 2026.48.0 changed the REST API so file versions uploaded through the API are linked to their document record and appear in the File Versions dialog in Manage Documents, and file download responses now return the file's labels. The same release extends Highlight All Changes in the Document Editor to content driven by Object Record values and by multiple choice conditions.

Why it matters: Teams that push documents into Legito from other systems now get one complete version history instead of stray files. Reviewers can also see every change in conditional template content, which was easy to miss before.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified.

eDiscovery AI published a CaseBot 3.0 help article stating that CaseBot is enabled by default and available as soon as a job completes, with no request or activation required. This moves the agentic CaseBot release, with eight specialist skills including Deposition Kit, Request Analysis and Record Check, off the 7 August beta that was limited to new matters and needed per matter activation by support. The 18 August press release had planned general availability for September 2026.

Why it matters: Litigation teams can now run the skill based, citation backed CaseBot on any job without a support request, so it can be evaluated and priced as a standard product rather than a gated beta.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified.

Casefleet began rolling out a rebuilt core interface for facts, sources, tasks, entities, issues and activity, with columns users can show, hide, resize, reorder and pin, filters by witness, issue, date and time, and saved views. It adds vertical timelines on a real time axis, inline comments on facts, a compact mode, and side by side timelines that compare multiple saved views. The classic UI stays available by toggle until November 1, 2026, when the new UI becomes the standard experience.

Why it matters: Every existing account moves to the new interface on November 1, 2026, so firms have a fixed date for retraining users. Side by side timelines let case teams line up competing accounts of the facts on large matters in one view.

Impact: High. Verification: Verified.

Casey, Casefleet's AI assistant, can now split a long processed document into up to 20 new PDF sources on request, proposing a name and page range for each that the user must accept before anything is created. The original document is left unchanged, OCR text and page layouts carry over, tags, citations, review status and Bates numbers do not, and each new source carries a note recording its original document and page range.

Why it matters: The assistant changes case files only after the user approves its proposal, and the provenance note keeps a trail back to the original exhibit when split documents are later cited. New sources count toward the document limit on plans that have one.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified. Coverage runs past 567,000 judicial decisions plus federal and provincial legislation across the common law provinces, with Quebec and Nunavut legislation still in progress. The content feeds Vincent research, drafting and analysis, including checking existing citations against Canadian authorities.

Why it matters: Canadian and cross border firms can now ground Vincent answers and citation checks in Canadian primary law rather than relying on US, UK or EU sources. The same release adds a Bulk Verify action that moves multiple Unverified requests to In Progress, excluding requests that require Evident or IDology identity checks.

Why it matters: Privacy counsel handling access and deletion requests under different laws can encode each statute's deadline trigger in the system instead of tracking exceptions by hand, which lowers the risk of missed statutory response dates.

Impact: Medium. The same release makes GPT-6 Sol the default model for agent design, with GPT-6 Luna also selectable.

Why it matters: For a firm running client intake through Perspective, an invented No or 0 in a structured field can misroute a matter or wrongly screen out a prospective client, so this directly changes how the system behaves when it has no answer.

Impact: Medium. It adds Custom Actions, one click workflows that DocJuris legal engineers build and test for a specific team (for example a Fill Electrical SOW action that populates a statement of work from a supplier quote), and proposed edits are previewed and written only on click as native Word tracked changes. It supports Word for Microsoft 365 on Windows and Mac and Word on the web, is deployed through the Microsoft 365 admin center, and carries over SSO, MFA, Library permissions and the audit trail.

Why it matters: Teams can apply their own negotiating positions inside the drafting tool instead of uploading and downloading files, and DocJuris states that only paragraph text is sent to the customer's own instance and the Word file itself is never uploaded, which is a concrete point for confidentiality review. Province rules such as the British Columbia Trust Administration Fee, the Transaction Levy in Alberta, Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario Form 9A now apply at matter level, and the Paid Taxes and Billed/Collected Taxes reports can target GST, PST, HST or QST.

Why it matters: Canadian firms with matters in several provinces can keep trust levies and sales tax correct per matter inside one system rather than relying on workarounds or separate books.

Impact: Medium.

CobbleStone released Contract Insight 26.1.0, a platform update with a redesigned responsive interface, enterprise wide search across records and document content, draft saving, and Contract Insights dashboards for renewals, financials, approvals and cycle times. Administrators get guided setup resources and automated health checks that flag common data issues. The release also adds VISDOM AI functions for natural language questions about contract data plus drafting and clause management assistance, and states that existing SSO and Word and Outlook add ins keep working through the upgrade.

Why it matters: Legal and contract teams on Contract Insight get AI question answering and drafting help inside the core CLM record rather than a separate tool, with configurations and add ins stated to survive the upgrade. The release gives no accuracy figures or data handling changes for the new VISDOM functions, so buyers should ask how answers are grounded to the contract record.

Impact: Medium.

Casepoint released its first two Casepoint IQ agents, the Relevance Determination Agent and the Issue Coding Agent, now live in its eDiscovery application for early access customers. The Relevance Determination Agent assigns each document a relevance or responsiveness likelihood score with its reasoning, and the Issue Coding Agent codes documents against matter defined issues with an optional post run QC that reports recall and precision per issue code. Both use a multimodel cross check and require users to validate performance on a sample set before the agent runs across the full document set.

Why it matters: Review teams get AI first pass relevance and issue coding with a sample validation gate, per document rationale and an audit trail of every human and AI decision, which is what a defensibility challenge will ask for. The agents run inside the existing platform security boundary under current permissions, so adopting them does not add a new environment to vet.

Impact: High. Verification: Verified.

August published documentation for MCP support, which lets August act as a Model Context Protocol client: it finds a vendor's hosted MCP server or takes a user supplied server URL, signs in through the vendor's popup, and calls the tools that server exposes. Users add, test, disable and remove connections from a new Connections tab in profile settings or from chat, and each connection uses the individual user's own credentials, stored encrypted and not shared with the firm. August enables it on request; it is not self serve.

Why it matters: Firms can reach systems that have no purpose built August integration, but August states it has no product specific knowledge of those systems and connections are per person rather than firm governed, so IT and risk teams should decide which MCP servers users may connect.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified.

Vesence shipped Desktops in its web app: every task now gets its own desktop holding that task's documents, mail and chats, kept in the layout the user left them. A user can start an agent on one desktop, move to another while it keeps working in the background, and the task lights up when the agent finishes so the user can return to review the resulting redline.

Why it matters: Lawyers can run several matter tasks with agents in parallel and are pulled back to review output only when it is ready, which changes how much agent work one person can supervise at once. It builds on the multichat tasks from the 8 Aug Vesence 2.0 release rather than adding new legal content or integrations.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified.

Smokeball Desktop App Version 10.1, released to beta testers, reworks matter permissions and adds a Manage access control to the Smokeball Web App, where a matter can be set to Open (all firm users) or Restricted (only staff with roles on the matter plus selected users). A new option, Restrict users created after today, keeps staff who join the firm later out of the matter by default, and settings sync between the desktop and web apps.

Why it matters: Per matter restriction is how a small firm builds an ethical wall, and the new user default closes the gap where a lateral hire inherits access to a conflicted matter. Smokeball's AI help page states Archie only works on matters a user can access, so these settings also limit what the AI assistant can read.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified.

Reveal made a unified corporate eDiscovery suite available that combines Reveal Hold, Onna and Logikcull across legal hold, preservation, collection, early case assessment, review and production. Reveal says many Onna data sources now feed directly into Reveal Hold preservation and collection workflows, and Onna targeted collections move into Logikcull with context, metadata and file relationships intact. Preferred pricing applies to organizations that buy the suite through Dec. 31, 2026.

Why it matters: In house legal teams can cover hold through production under one vendor relationship instead of stitching together point tools, with a year end deadline on the preferred price. The Reveal AI orchestration layer across the suite is only promised from 2027, so buyers should not count it as shipped.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified.

Reveal Hold Build 76908 lets legal teams collect Slack Enterprise Grid and Zoom Workplace content directly from Reveal Hold, with full collection available now and channel selection to follow in a later deployment. The build also adds user configurable legal hold and compliance dashboards (custodians in scope, acknowledgment progress, questionnaire status, new holds over time) and lets the Microsoft Purview integration wizard accept multiple domains.

Why it matters: Preservation and collection of chat and meeting data can now run from the hold tool itself rather than through a separate collection step.

Noxtua shipped the Noxtua Model System, a model picker in Chat, Matrix and the Word and Outlook add ins that lets users choose between base model categories and switch at any time, including mid conversation. Standard (Athena Agent) runs open source or open weights models self hosted on Deutsche Telekom and IONOS infrastructure, while the new Frontier category (Minerva Agent) adds an international closed source frontier model reached through Deutsche Telekom's T Cloud Public. Admins can deselect the nondefault category under Settings, Advanced Settings, and the picker is not yet offered in every market.

Why it matters: Firms that wanted frontier model output without leaving a European processing setup can now get it in the same product, while judiciary and public sector buyers can hold users to the sovereign open weights category by admin policy. Noxtua also states each model passes preregistered release gates, including legal engineering tests by C.H.BECK and bias assessments, before it enters a category.

Impact: High.

The Model System support article sets out the data path for the new Frontier (Minerva) category: the closed source model is accessed through Deutsche Telekom's T Cloud Public over an encrypted, isolated connection into a dedicated Google processing environment in an EU data center, under a data processing agreement. Noxtua states that across all categories client data is never used for model training and is held with zero retention during processing, and that conversation history stays in Noxtua's own encrypted storage on Deutsche Telekom and IONOS under Noxtua keys, with client set retention. It says the Standard (Athena) path has no US law provider in its chain, while Minerva only reduces US CLOUD Act exposure.

Why it matters: Leaving Frontier switched on puts a Google environment into the processing chain for client matter data, so firms with strict client confidentiality or outside counsel terms should review the processing agreement and set the category by admin policy. The vendor's own statement that Athena, not Minerva, is the path with no US CLOUD Act addressee gives buyers a clear basis for that choice.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Partially Verified. Runtime precedential treatment warnings and full brief cite checking are described as upcoming work, not shipped.

Why it matters: Citing and cited by search plus pinpoint page handling move Harvey toward citator style research inside the platform, but buyers should keep a separate good law check until the announced treatment warnings ship.

Impact: Medium. Credo AI states it does not issue AIUC-1 certification; AIUC and accredited auditors such as Schellman do.

Why it matters: Legal departments and firms vetting agentic tools get one place to track AIUC-1 requirements against the agents they buy and build (the post names Harvey as the first legal AI platform to certify), which replaces bespoke vendor questionnaires with a shared standard and current evidence.

Impact: Medium. Screening runs on a purpose built AI skill using exact match logic with no score or fuzzy matching, and it never blocks a supplier automatically: an authorized user must block with a recorded reason, after which linked contracts show a Blocked tag and their workflow actions pause.

Why it matters: Legal and procurement teams get sanctions checks inside the contract workflow with a documented human decision point, a clear answer to where the AI acts on its own and where a person must decide.

Casefleet made Claude Opus 5.5 available as the Premium Intelligence model in Casey, its AI case assistant, and recommends it for all users. The vendor states it is 40% cheaper than Opus 5 with performance improvements, and users switch models from the selector in the Casey chat.

Why it matters: Casefleet names the underlying model and version, so firms can check it against their own AI use policies and provider terms. The entry does not say whether Opus 5.5 is covered by Zero Data Retention, which Casefleet flagged as unavailable for Claude Fable 5.0 in July, so firms with ZDR requirements should confirm before switching.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified. Type: Model / architecture.

Evidence: Vendor documentation

Source: AI Legal Index change log.

Alt Legal released a native add in for Microsoft Outlook, available to all users, that uploads emails and their attachments directly to matters in the Alt Legal IP docket without leaving the inbox. Users search and select the target matter from Outlook, multifile emails are filed as a complete set, and emails are stored alongside their original attachments.

Why it matters: Trademark and IP teams receive client instructions, filing receipts and office actions by email, so filing them to the matter record from Outlook keeps docket files complete without a separate download and reupload step. It moves Alt Legal closer to the email system where IP correspondence actually arrives.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified. Type: Integration / interoperability.

Evidence: Vendor documentation

Source: AI Legal Index change log.

Relyance AI's 21 Sept release tightened Strict InHost mode so sampled record values and error text stay out of scan results. InHost runs the Relyance scanner in a cloud account the customer owns and copies only the results back to Relyance. The same release adds sanitized supporting context to data classification findings, which previously showed no context at all.

Why it matters: Teams that keep scanning inside their own cloud can now be sure raw record values never leave it, even in error messages. Sanitized context also makes findings easier to check without exposing the data behind them.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified. Type: Privilege / confidentiality.

Evidence: Vendor documentation

Source: AI Legal Index change log.

Relativity removed the option to switch off GenAI mode when ingesting data into Data Breach Response, so every DBR ingestion now runs through the generative AI workflow that identifies, extracts and links personal information to individuals. The release note lists support in the US, Canada, Brazil, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Asia, Europe Data Zone, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Africa regions, with the Relativity aiR Government date still TBA.

Why it matters: Teams whose client, insurer or regulator terms bar generative AI on breach data can no longer run DBR in a non GenAI mode and must settle AI use terms before ingestion. Relativity's own DBR documentation says all outputs need human review because the model can omit or fabricate PI.

Impact: High. Verification: Verified. Type: Product / capability.

Evidence: Vendor documentation

Source: AI Legal Index change log.

Full page redaction was reworked so users select one or more pages to redact in a single action, mirroring area redactions, instead of redacting only the visible page. A new toggle on finalized exports excludes fully redacted pages so blacked out pages no longer appear in the export bundle. Both changes apply only to full page redactions made from 21 September 2026 onward, because of a change in how those redactions are stored.

Why it matters: Reviewers producing large disclosure sets no longer need to delete blank redacted pages after export or redact pages one click at a time, which cuts manual clean up of the final production. The export toggle has no effect on full page redactions created before the change.

Impact: Medium. Verification: Verified. Type: Product / capability.

Evidence: Vendor documentation

Source: AI Legal Index change log.
