LinkSquares vs Oneflow: how they compare in 2026
LinkSquares is a fit for a legal department building contract intelligence and connected workflows around an existing agreement collection. Its own extraction models, LinkAI capabilities and published API behavior support that program, including access from Claude for eligible accounts. Oneflow is a fit when the agreement starts in a sales process and remains editable through negotiation, with CRM values and stages synchronized around it. Oneflow's AI review uses configured playbook concepts and shows missing clauses; LinkSquares separately describes inconclusive and absent extraction results that users can correct. In those different ways of exposing a review problem, AI Legal Index identifies a useful test for real contract samples. LinkSquares permits specified anonymized model improvement, whereas Oneflow prohibits training but excludes generative AI confidentiality and recourse undertakings. Repository intelligence and a live commercial agreement are therefore different starting requirements.
At a glance
All 15 axes, side by side
The same grid applied to every vendor in the index, graded from public sources. Hover a grade to see what the letter means on that axis.
AI Centrality
How much of the product is actually AI. Whether the machine learning is the mechanism the buyer is paying for or a feature layered onto conventional software, and whether the vendor is specific about which is which.
LinkSquares rebuilt its platform in 2026 around agents, launched in May and generally available in June, so AI now drafts, redlines, researches and writes stakeholder updates inside the contract workflow. LinkAI, the engine behind it, extracts more than 120 data points from every agreement in Analyze, from renewal and termination dates to governing law, payment terms and liability caps. It also sorts each upload into one of 26 Smart Types. Those values feed reports, dashboards, event reminders and the Salesforce sync. The AI Legal Assistant redlines against playbooks, drafts amendments and answers legal questions, and a risk agent rates language against weighted criteria the customer defines. Smart OCR turns scans into text that can be read and filtered. The repository, approval routing, clause libraries, templates, signature and reporting still run as conventional software, and Smart Values are switched on or off during implementation.
AI supports several substantial contract tasks within Oneflow's wider platform. Write with AI drafts, edits and translates text inside an agreement; AI Extract imports participants, dates and duration into editable metadata. AI Review compares terms with a workspace playbook, and AI Insights aggregates the resulting risks across the portfolio. The premium package adds custom rules, dashboard widgets and a report for negotiation follow up. Electronic signatures, editable HTML agreements, permissions, approvals and renewal reminders continue to work without these models. Customers can disable AI, and several review capabilities remain in beta. AI therefore changes how users analyze contracts without replacing the underlying contract system.
Citation Accuracy and Hallucination Disclosure
Whether the vendor publishes measured accuracy on citations and assertions, grounds output to primary sources, and says plainly what its system does when it does not know. Legal has a documented public record of fabricated citations reaching filed briefs, so an untested claim of accuracy is not evidence.
LinkSquares claims 95 percent or better field level accuracy out of the box for its extraction and 99 percent accuracy for Smart OCR. Neither figure comes with a test set, a method or a breakdown by field or contract type. Each Smart Value carries a status in the product. A green light bulb marks a value the AI extracted with high confidence, and Not Present means the term is absent. Inconclusive marks a value the AI was not confident enough to extract, which the help center says needs further investigation. Values a manager edits by hand show a pencil icon. The AI Legal Assistant answers legal research questions from more than 100 public and government sources and cites where each answer came from. LinkSquares markets that research as free of the hallucination risk of generic AI tools. The sources themselves are not listed. The SaaS Terms of Service disclaim any warranty of accuracy.
Review findings connect to highlighted passages in the agreement, with controls for moving between them. Each finding carries the relevant playbook concept, configured feedback and example clause text. A separate view identifies required clauses that the review did not find, while portfolio charts open the corresponding contract list. This lets the reviewer compare a proposed concern with the actual wording and the organization's rule. Oneflow warns that generated text can misstate facts, numbers and law and recommends human correction. No reproducible accuracy study, error rate or jurisdiction specific evaluation accompanies these features. The contract highlighting supports source verification, not validation of legal authority.
Autonomy and Oversight Model
What the system decides on its own, what a lawyer must approve, and whether the vendor documents where the review point sits. A tool that drafts under review and a tool that files without one are different products and different risks.
The AI Legal Assistant applies playbook redlines in Suggesting mode, as tracked changes with a comment explaining each deviation. The user accepts or rejects them one by one or all at once, then saves a new version stamped with its date and time. LinkSquares must switch the Assistant on for an account, and an administrator grants access user by user. The May 2026 launch describes agents that act on contracts while legal teams keep review and decision making. The Workflow Builder Agent, introduced in September 2026, leaves the legal team in control of what goes live. Autonomous agents, first offered through a beta waitlist, identify upcoming auto renewals and expirations, summarize newly ingested contracts and review the repository for clauses that deviate from the organization's standards. The risk agent applies criteria the legal team names, defines and weights. LinkSquares sets no point at which an agent stops and hands work back to a lawyer, and does not say what happens after a wrong redline is accepted.
Administrators enable AI Review for a workspace and configure its playbook, including which clauses matter, which findings count as risks or issues, and what feedback appears. Role permissions separately control access to individual reviews and the Insights dashboard. Sent contracts receive continuing analysis; draft contracts require a manual review action. A person can inspect highlighted text, edit the playbook and use example wording when revising an agreement. The AI appendix advises human review before relying on output. No confidence cutoff, mandatory lawyer approval after an AI finding, or correction route for an already approved mistake is specified. Risk colors classify findings rather than stop execution.
Operational and Outcome Evidence
Named, dated evidence that the product works in production at real firms or legal departments. Case studies with figures and identified customers count. Unattributed testimonials and launch announcements do not.
LinkSquares names customers with dated figures. Accession Risk Management Group, in a March 2026 case study, cut contracting time from more than 1,300 hours to 43 and legal queue times from about 197 hours to 55.5. Its legal leader, Katie Nagel, describes a $1.4 million return calculated on the executive dashboard against the team's blended rate. Softonic (September 2024) cut outside counsel spend by 40 percent, with sales reps executing NDAs themselves in a fifth of the time. OutSystems (May 2024) reports contract completion time down by more than 30 percent, and Commvault (January 2023) sales contract time to close down by 50 percent. A Forrester Total Economic Impact study, commissioned by LinkSquares and dated October 2025, built a composite organization from five decision makers. It found a 360 percent return over three years, a $2.1 million net present value and payback in under six months. LinkSquares counts more than 1,200 customers, naming DraftKings, TIME and ProPharma.
Puzzel's Sales Operations Manager, Anette Johnsen, describes generating offers and contracts from Salesforce opportunities with items from related CPQ quotes. She identifies a concrete benefit of the HTML format: participants revise one agreement instead of uploading successive files before signature. Other named users include Systembolaget's Head of Indirect Sourcing, Tor Myhrman, and Hedin Bil's HR Business Partner, Elin Skoglund, who describe handling agreements and maintaining oversight. These accounts establish operational use across sales, procurement and HR. They do not isolate AI review performance or supply a measured error reduction, evaluation period and sample for Oneflow's current AI packages.
Privilege and Confidentiality Posture
How client confidences are handled: attorney client privilege and work product treatment, segregation of one client matter from another, whether client data trains any model, and what the vendor commits to in writing rather than in marketing.
Section 5.2 of LinkSquares' SaaS Terms of Service gives LinkSquares an irrevocable right to use client data, during the term and after it, in aggregated and anonymized form. The permitted uses are research, benchmarking and improving and training its AI algorithms and machine learning models. Confidential information and anything that could identify the client are excluded. Custom Smart Values are built by LinkSquares' data science team using the customer's own agreements. LinkSquares' AI pages say contract data is never shared with or used to train third party language model providers, and that none of it is retained by them. The terms make client data the client's property and return or destroy it on request within 90 days after termination. Customers can manage their own encryption keys in AWS and cut off LinkSquares' access at any time. The AI Legal Assistant page says attorney client confidentiality is protected at every stage, and the terms carry no clause on privilege or work product.
The AI appendix expressly prohibits Oneflow from training any AI model on customer data and takes precedence over conflicting general terms for AI features. Ordinary service confidentiality continues while information remains confidential, with restrictions on compelled disclosure. There is a consequential exception: the generative AI section excludes Oneflow's contractual confidentiality obligations along with liability, indemnities and service levels. Review, Insights and Extract have a separate processing section tied to the DPA. Workspace permissions and optional provider controls support access management, but attorney client privilege and work product receive no specific undertaking. The contract therefore requires attention to the exact AI functionality being enabled.
UPL and Professional Responsibility Posture
Whether the vendor is clear that it supplies a tool rather than legal advice, who its audience is, and how it addresses unauthorized practice of law, competence and supervision duties, and jurisdiction limits. ABA Formal Opinion 512 is the reference point. Where the advice line is not the duty a product raises, the axis is read through the nearest professional duty it does raise: judicial conduct rules and the reviewing duty for products sold only to courts, and the duty to bill for time actually spent for products that draft time entries.
LinkSquares sells to in house legal teams and to the sales, procurement, finance and HR staff who request and sign contracts through it. Its AI Legal Assistant now answers legal research questions, drafts amendments and redlines contracts. The only statement on legal advice in LinkSquares' terms covers onboarding, where the Onboarding Services Terms say those services do not constitute legal advice or counsel. The SaaS Terms of Service and the AI pages carry no equivalent statement for AI output. Nothing ties the Assistant's research answers to a lawyer's review, and its page markets the research feature to compliance teams checking contract language against current regulations. LinkSquares sets no jurisdiction limits for research, and its help center lists English as the platform's only language.
Oneflow's AI appendix says output is not legal advice, legal conclusions, recommendations about legal rights or an application of law to a customer's circumstances. It advises human review because generated content can misstate law as well as facts. A separate UK article maps solicitor responsibilities to SRA standards, confidentiality, client communication and supervision, and describes practical review and pilot controls. North American terms also prohibit treating the platform as a substitute for an attorney. The product nevertheless serves sales, HR and other users without legal qualifications. No comprehensive jurisdiction by jurisdiction set of product restrictions or lawyer competence program is supplied.
AI Governance and Bias Disclosure
Published governance over model behavior: who owns it inside the vendor, what is tested before release, and what is disclosed about disparate output across matter types, parties, or populations.
LinkSquares describes LinkAI as carefully designed with governance in mind and keeps AI features off until LinkSquares enables them and an administrator grants access. It sets out no AI policy, responsible AI principles, named owner for model behavior, release testing, model cards or bias testing, and holds no ISO/IEC 42001 certification. Risk criteria for the risk agent are written and weighted by the customer, so the standard that agent applies is set by the legal team. Section 5.2 of the SaaS Terms of Service lets LinkSquares train its models on anonymized, aggregated client data without describing how that training is reviewed. The annual SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 audits cover information security rather than model behavior. Nothing describes how extraction or redline quality varies across contract types, drafting styles or the languages the help center says the platform does not support.
Oneflow promotes human accountability and warns against automation bias in its guidance for UK legal teams. It recommends evaluating missed issues, overrides and review quality rather than relying only on speed, and says its AI performs best in English and Swedish. These are useful limits and principles for customers designing a pilot. The public material does not identify an accountable AI governance owner, publish a model release evaluation, or report bias and performance differences across languages, contract types or populations. General ISO security controls and a list of security policies concern operational protection; they do not describe a separate AI testing and governance program.
AI Safety and Data Stewardship
Retention, deletion, access control, and what happens to prompts and documents after they are processed. Whether the vendor states its subprocessors and its incident practice, or leaves the buyer to assume.
LinkSquares' Data Processing Addendum covers GDPR, UK GDPR, the CCPA and PIPEDA, with the 2021 standard contractual clauses for transfers. It points to a subprocessor list in the help center that requires a login. A new subprocessor comes with at least 10 calendar days' notice before it processes EU personal data, and 5 days to object. The Security Addendum commits LinkSquares to notify the client without undue delay of unauthorized use of client data, with no period in hours. It also keeps records of staff access to client data for at least 90 days. Data is encrypted with TLS 1.2 in transit and AES 256 at rest, and customers can hold their own keys through AWS Key Management Service. The terms return or destroy client data on request within 90 days after termination, while one archival copy may be kept. The audit log keeps 365 days of activity by default, longer on request. No retention period is set for AI output during the term.
Contract data is encrypted with AES 256 at rest and TLS 1.2 in transit. Customers configure permissions and retention policies; administrators can disable optional providers or AI features. Global DPA terms require breach notification without undue delay, while the North American DPA specifies 48 hours. Daily database snapshots last seven days, and system and authentication logs last 90 days. The DPA permits limited residual backups after deletion without fixing that period. Generative AI history can follow provider terms, while the product page promises removal of temporary review and import data. That leaves no single, specific retention schedule for every prompt and output.
AI Liability and Recourse
What the vendor stands behind contractually when its output is wrong. Indemnities, caps, carve outs, insurance, and whether any of it is published or only reachable through a negotiated agreement.
LinkSquares' SaaS Terms of Service, governed by Massachusetts law, cap each party's total liability at the fees paid or payable in the year the claim arose. They exclude indirect, consequential and punitive damages, except for gross negligence or willful misconduct, and cap liability for early access and evaluation products at the greater of those fees or $100. LinkSquares defends the client against third party intellectual property claims about the services, excluding claims arising from client data, combinations and misuse, and the client indemnifies LinkSquares against claims arising from client data. The warranty covers only the functions described in the order form, with correction as the sole remedy, and everything else, accuracy included, is disclaimed as is. The Standard SLA targets 99.5 percent monthly availability, with credits of 1 to 5 percent of the annual price. No term addresses AI output, and no insurance is stated.
Ordinary global service terms include an intellectual property defense obligation, a material performance warranty and a general cap based on 12 months of fees. Those protections do not carry through unchanged to AI. The appendix supplies AI output as is, disclaims warranties and excludes all liability and indemnification undertakings for generative AI functionality, together with confidentiality obligations and agreed service levels. It also permits specified AI suspensions or termination without reimbursing fees. North American terms contain the same generative AI exclusion. A wrong clause, inaccurate summary or reliance on generated advice has no specific affirmative AI remedy in these published terms.
Practice Systems Integration Depth
How deeply the product reaches into the systems legal work already lives in: document management such as iManage and NetDocuments, Word and Outlook, contract lifecycle management, matter management, e-billing, and court filing systems.
LinkSquares documents its integrations in a public help center. The REST API, with keys an administrator issues, pulls Smart Values, terms, types, tags and parent child hierarchies from Analyze in bulk or by agreement. A date filter supports incremental syncs, results include only agreements the API user may view, and calls are limited to 15 a second, with an OpenAPI 3.0 specification available in the app. The Salesforce package pushes default and custom Smart Values into Salesforce records, with the liability cap fields excluded. Box, SharePoint, Dropbox, Google Drive, Egnyte and Amazon S3 connect as inbound syncs that ingest any contract added to a chosen folder, set up with LinkSquares' implementation team. A connector for Claude lets Team and Enterprise users create agreements, manage legal requests and look across the repository under their own LinkSquares permissions, once a Claude administrator enables it. Slack, a Word add in, DocuSign and Adobe Sign complete the set, and no iManage or NetDocuments connector exists.
The Salesforce integration creates interactive contracts from opportunities and transfers contact, company and opportunity data into them. Its configurable sync sends data from Salesforce objects into Oneflow and returns contract values to Salesforce. Product tables can reflect price books or CPQ quotes, while workflows map contract stages back to pipeline stages. Engagement events and status changes appear in the Salesforce timeline, and returned contract data supports dashboards. Oneflow identifies separate setup guidance for older and newer integration versions and compatibility with Professional edition upward. HubSpot, Dynamics 365 and other CRM connections complement this workflow; Salesforce and Dynamics can require premium integration charges.
Deployment Model and Data Residency
Where the software runs and where the data sits. Multi tenant cloud, single tenant, private deployment, on premises, and whether region of residence is a published option or an enterprise conversation.
LinkSquares runs as software as a service on AWS, with multi tenant and single tenant options hosted in the United States. Customers can create their own AWS KMS key in the same region as their data and can revoke and restore LinkSquares' access at any time, knowing that a deleted key leaves the data unrecoverable. The privacy policy says data is transferred to and processed in the United States, and the Data Processing Addendum relies on standard contractual clauses for EU and UK data. No EU hosting region or on premises deployment is offered. LinkSquares does not say where its outside language models process content, and the Claude connector runs through Anthropic under Anthropic's own terms. Status for the agentic platform, Analyze, Finalize, Prioritize, the Word add in and the Salesforce integration is tracked on a public status page.
Production infrastructure uses AWS availability zones in Ireland, with document replication and backups in Sweden. Oneflow's AI FAQ broadly describes data as remaining in the EU, and Insights Premium is described as running within Oneflow's own EU infrastructure. The published subprocessor table gives a more varied picture: optional Legly review operates in Germany, optional OpenAI extraction in the United States, and Postmark email processing also in the United States. Administrators can disable optional services. The public descriptions do not fully reconcile these routes or map every AI function to a processing region. No on premises deployment is offered in the published package descriptions.
Security Certifications and Trust Center
Independent attestation a buyer can pull without a sales call: SOC 2, ISO 27001, penetration test summaries, a trust center with current reports and named scope rather than a badge image.
LinkSquares' security page lists a SOC 2 Type 2 report, ISO 27001 and GDPR compliance, and its post quantum cryptography statement says both certifications are audited annually. The SaaS Terms of Service commit LinkSquares to independent SOC 2 Type II audits and penetration testing every year. No auditor, certification body or report period is named. Customers reach the security materials through a request form linked from the help center, and the Data Processing Addendum makes the SOC 2 Type II report available on written request. There is no self serve trust portal. Controls listed include AWS Security Hub, a web application firewall, DDoS protection, daily vulnerability scans, monitoring and incident response around the clock, customer managed encryption keys and audit logs.
A public certificate issued by Qvalify covers Oneflow AB's digital solution for contract automation under ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022. It was issued on June 28, 2024 and remains valid through June 30, 2027, identifying the Stockholm organization and its registration number. A June 2026 statement of applicability lists the security controls and their implementation status. The security center separately identifies SOC 1 Type 1 and SOC 2 Type 1 reports issued by Grant Thornton, available under NDA. Those reports concern control design; neither is identified as a Type II examination of operating effectiveness over a stated period.
Model Supply Chain Disclosure
Which models sit underneath, whose they are, where they run, and whether the vendor commits to telling customers when that changes. A legal buyer inherits every dependency it cannot see.
LinkAI combines LinkSquares' own models with outside large language models. The LinkAI page says LinkSquares pulls language models into its system alongside its in house models so that no customer data is shared with or retained by the providers. The February 2025 introduction of LinkAI described hundreds of proprietary models. LinkSquares says its extraction models are trained on more than 10 million real contracts with 6 million human annotations, and Custom Smart Values are trained on a customer's own agreements. It names none of the outside model providers or model versions, and the subprocessor list sits behind a login. LinkSquares notes that a customer's zero data retention agreement with Anthropic does not extend to traffic through its Claude connector. The DPA gives 10 days' notice of new subprocessors, with no separate notice of model changes.
The subprocessor list identifies Legly AB for contract review in Germany and OpenAI for extraction in the United States, alongside AWS infrastructure in Ireland and Sweden. Both AI suppliers are optional and controlled through account settings. The AI appendix directs customers to their Data Management page for the current generative model suppliers and their terms. It does not publish model versions or a complete function to model map. DPA provisions require reasonable advance notice of subprocessor changes to the customer's designated email address and allow a 14 day objection. That process concerns suppliers, without promising notice of every underlying model change.
Commercial Transparency
Whether a buyer can learn what this costs without entering a sales process: published rates, the unit being charged, what sits behind an enterprise tier, and what implementation adds.
Subscription quotes depend on contract volume, user count, selected modules, implementation and onboarding support, and custom integrations or advanced features. That establishes the units and scope used to price a deployment, without a numeric starting rate. Implementation and onboarding costs are included in the upfront discussion, and the product can expand with the customer's team. The platform combines contract intelligence, drafting, review, workflows, and business reporting, so the selected capabilities affect the package. A published per-user amount, fixed implementation fee, and standard price for each module are not available. The total therefore depends on the agreed configuration and contract volume.
Business starts at $292 a month, billed annually, including five users; Enterprise has ten users and a custom quote. Business includes writing, extraction and summary features. Standard AI Review and Insights have conflicting public treatment: the pricing page marks paid beta additions, while September help guidance says they are included in Enterprise during beta. Insights Premium is explicitly a paid addition for Business and Enterprise. SMS, identity verification, premium integrations and enhanced support can cost more. A 14 day trial needs no card. Implementation has no published amount, and global annual renewals can increase by the greater of 5 percent or Swedish CPI.
Firm and Practice Coverage
Who the product is actually built for. AmLaw, midlaw, small firm and solo, in house departments, government and courts, and which practice areas are supported rather than merely claimed.
LinkSquares is built for in house legal teams and the business teams around them, with pages for legal, procurement and sales. Its use cases run from contract review and vendor management to M&A and data privacy compliance. Power users with full access are usually legal staff, while Standard users in collaborating departments get read access. Smart Types sort uploads into 26 agreement types, and LinkSquares says it supports every contract type from NDAs and MSAs to M&A agreements, including documents over 500 pages. The help center says the platform runs in English only, while the Smart OCR page claims it detects different languages. Named customers span media, gaming, software, insurance and life sciences, from TIME and DraftKings to Commvault, OutSystems, Accession and ProPharma. Law firm use is not covered, and the research feature names no jurisdictions.
Legal, procurement, sales, finance and HR teams can create and manage agreements in Oneflow. Legal users configure review rules and approve terms; business teams use reusable templates and CRM data for offers, sales agreements and employment documents. Named customers span telecoms, retail, recruitment and public sector purchasing. UK guidance also addresses solicitors using AI for commercial contract review, bringing professional duties into the intended audience. AI is optimized for English and Swedish, with variable results in other languages. The product does not supply a jurisdiction specific research corpus, and its coverage statements do not define supported litigation work or every category of legal agreement.
The 12 legal signals, side by side
Recorded rather than graded. These are the questions a practitioner has to answer before a tool touches a client matter, and the answers are taken from public material only.
Client Data in Training
Can material a lawyer puts into this product be used to train a model?
Section 5.2 of LinkSquares' SaaS Terms of Service gives LinkSquares an irrevocable right, during the term and after it, to use client data in aggregated and anonymized form. The permitted uses include improving its products and training its AI algorithms and machine learning models. Confidential information and anything that could identify the client are carved out, and no opt out is offered. Building Custom Smart Values also involves the data science team working with agreements supplied by that customer.
LinkSquares' AI pages say contract data and legal work product are never shared with or used to train third party language model providers, and that none of it is retained by them.
The AI appendix forbids Oneflow from using customer data to train any AI models and overrides conflicting general terms for AI issues. Inputs and attributable outputs fall within the customer data definition. The general service license permits improvement and anonymized analysis, and AI feedback may improve accuracy, but those clauses do not remove the express training ban. The product FAQ also says underlying models do not train on customer data.
Separate provider processing, retained history and the generative AI confidentiality exclusion remain relevant to handling client material.
Prompt and Output Retention
How long does the product keep what a lawyer typed, and can that be set to zero?
LinkSquares says it pulls language models into its own system so that no customer data is shared with or retained by the model providers. Inside the platform, no retention period applies to AI summaries, redlines, research answers or drafts during the term, and AI Legal Assistant drafts stay under Recent Drafts until a user removes them. After termination, section 8.3 of the SaaS Terms of Service returns or destroys client data on request within 90 days, while LinkSquares may keep one archival copy and need not purge backups.
The audit log keeps 365 days of activity by default. For the Claude connector, a customer's zero data retention agreement with Anthropic does not cover connector traffic.
Oneflow permits customers to set retention policies for stored contracts, and its AI page says temporary import, review and Insights data is removed after use. Generative AI has a different contractual provision: input questions and output responses may remain as history under the model supplier's current terms. No uniform period covers that history or every provider copy. Daily database snapshots last seven days, system logs last 90 days, and residual backups after termination have no precise DPA deadline. Contract deletion therefore cannot be treated as an immediate purge of all AI processing records.
Ethical Walls and Matter Segregation
Does retrieval respect the firm’s ethical walls, or can the model read across them?
LinkSquares keeps its own permission model, documented in its help center. Analyze has Power, Standard and IT Admin user types with Administrator, Manager and Standard permission levels, and administrators can create unlimited custom roles that allow or restrict access by agreement type and tag. Finalize has five license types with their own permissions. The API returns only agreements the API user may view, and the Claude connector inherits each user's LinkSquares permissions.
Legal, sales, procurement and finance users share one instance, and LinkSquares describes no ethical wall, matter level barrier or inheritance of permissions from a document management system.
Workspace roles control access to contracts, and Oneflow provides distinct permissions for AI Review and the Insights dashboard. Administrators enable review for selected workspaces and can disable AI features or optional suppliers. These controls can support departmental separation and limit who sees review results. The descriptions do not specify how retrieval enforces every contract permission within a workspace, how restrictions propagate to generated summaries, or how a law firm's matter wall follows an AI request. Permission controls alone do not establish a complete ethical wall mechanism for confidential client matters.
Third Party Request and Subpoena Notice
If someone subpoenas the vendor for a firm’s data, does the firm hear about it first?
LinkSquares' SaaS Terms of Service let either party disclose confidential information when law, rule or order requires it. Where reasonably practicable and legally permissible, the disclosing party must give prior written notice so the other can seek a protective order, and must disclose no more than necessary. The privacy policy, last updated February 2026, allows disclosure in response to a subpoena, a warrant or a court or regulatory order.
The Data Processing Addendum's standard contractual clauses govern public authority requests for EU personal data. LinkSquares issues no transparency report.
Global confidentiality terms require reasonable prior notice when disclosure is legally compelled, unless notice is prohibited, and reasonable assistance at the customer's expense in seeking protection. That gives the customer an opportunity to contest or narrow a request involving ordinary confidential service data. The AI appendix expressly removes contractual confidentiality obligations for generative AI functionality, so the same protection should not be assumed across every AI route.
No transparency report accompanies the commitment. North American and global agreements need to be matched to the contracting entity and enabled services.
Primary Law Corpus Provenance
Where does the law in this product come from, and does the vendor have the right to use it?
LinkSquares describes its extraction models as trained on more than 10 million real contracts with 6 million human annotations, rather than on templates. It does not say where the contracts came from or on what rights basis they are used. Section 5.2 of its terms adds anonymized, aggregated client data to the training material, and Custom Smart Values train on a customer's own agreements. The AI Legal Assistant answers research questions from more than 100 public and government sources and cites each answer, without listing the sources or saying how often they are refreshed.
Oneflow's review and portfolio analysis work with the customer's agreements and configured playbook concepts. Example clauses come from the organization's rule setup, and drafting can use selected text as input. No catalog of legislation, reported decisions or licensed legal commentary is supplied for these features. Naming a model provider does not identify the legal sources in its training data or their licensing terms.
The UK educational articles link professional guidance, but those links do not constitute a legal research corpus inside the product.
Good Law Verification
Does the product tell you when the authority it just cited has been overruled?
The AI Legal Assistant answers legal research questions with citations to public and government sources, and LinkSquares markets it for checking contract language against current regulations. LinkSquares names no citator and describes no check of whether a cited statute, regulation or case is still good law. The rest of the platform extracts and compares contract terms rather than citing authority, and playbook rules come from the customer's own templates and drafting rules.
The Assistant can generate playbook rules from an existing template, and nothing marks a clause or rule for review after the law behind it changes.
Highlighted review passages let a user inspect contract language, not whether a judicial decision remains authoritative. Oneflow has no published citator connection, treatment history service or automated check of legislation's current status. Teams maintain their own playbooks, including preferred and fallback clauses, so changing a rule after a legal development remains an organizational responsibility. The appendix warns that AI can generate incorrect law and recommends human review. A portfolio risk chart or missing clause flag does not establish that the underlying legal proposition remains valid.
Refusal and Uncertainty Behavior
What does the product do when the answer is not in the corpus?
Each Smart Value in Analyze carries a status. Inconclusive, shown as a blue light bulb, marks a value the AI was not confident enough to extract and that needs further investigation. Not Present records a term the AI judged absent from the agreement. Values a manager or administrator corrects show a pencil icon, and Smart Types mark an agreement Uncategorized when its type cannot be determined. The AI Legal Assistant has no described abstention path for research questions, and LinkSquares gives no confidence measure for redlines or drafts.
The AI Review interface separates findings from a missing clauses view. That view identifies playbook concepts absent from the agreement, giving the reviewer an explicit negative result instead of merely omitting a match. Red and yellow labels distinguish issues from risks; they are not numerical confidence estimates. Oneflow warns that generated facts and law can be wrong, but does not publish a general abstention rule for drafting or summaries. Missing clause handling is described for review, without promising that every unsupported question will be refused.
Fabricated Citation Record
Does a public court record exist addressing fabricated or hallucinated legal citations in output from this product?
The AI Hallucination Cases database maintained by Damien Charlotin, which records court decisions worldwide that address hallucinated AI content and the tool involved where known, has no entry naming LinkSquares or LinkAI. The AI Legal Assistant answers legal research questions with citations to public and government sources, while the rest of LinkSquares works on contracts rather than court filings.
Damien Charlotin's AI Hallucination Cases database contained no entry naming Oneflow as of October 16, 2026. The result covers the database's reported court incidents, not every private use of the product or every inaccurate contract response. Oneflow itself discusses court examples involving generic AI tools in educational material; those examples do not identify Oneflow as the tool involved. Contract drafting and risk analysis can still produce incorrect law, which the AI appendix expressly warns about. The absence of a named incident provides no accuracy guarantee.
Bar Guidance Alignment
Has the vendor engaged in public with the ethics opinions its buyers are bound by?
LinkSquares names no bar opinion, ethics rule or professional conduct guidance, although its AI Legal Assistant answers legal research questions and its pages address general counsel, legal operations and compliance teams. The only statement on legal advice in its terms appears in the Onboarding Services Terms, which say onboarding services do not constitute legal advice or counsel. The AI Legal Assistant page says attorney client confidentiality is protected at every stage, without tying that to a professional rule.
Its research feature is offered to compliance teams and to legal operations staff as well as lawyers, with no guidance on supervising answers before they are relied on.
Oneflow's UK contract review guidance maps SRA standards and conduct duties to human supervision, confidentiality, client transparency and practical controls. It also discusses insurance, data protection and the legal team's responsibility for final judgment. This is a jurisdiction specific mapping with suggested review steps, rather than a generic statement that lawyers remain responsible. It is vendor guidance, not regulator approval or an independent finding of compliance. The mapping does not establish equivalent coverage for every jurisdiction in which Oneflow sells its platform.
Billing and Fee Posture
Does the vendor address what happens to the bill when the work takes an hour instead of six?
LinkSquares is bought by in house legal teams to run their company's own contracts, so AI assisted work does not reach a client bill. Its savings claims address the buyer's own costs. Softonic cut outside counsel spend by 40 percent, Accession calculated a $1.4 million return against its legal team's blended rate, and the commissioned Forrester study found a 360 percent return over three years. The executive dashboard in Finalize lets a legal team value its own time this way.
Comparison pages and case studies speak to general counsel and legal operations leaders rather than to firms billing clients, and law firm use is not covered.
The vendor's UK AI review material addresses solicitors as well as internal legal departments and promotes faster review with retained professional judgment. Its product pages also describe reducing routine contract work and administrative effort. No accompanying procedure explains how a firm records AI time, adjusts a client invoice, discloses savings or passes through Oneflow charges. Subscription pricing is the buyer's software cost rather than a client billing policy.
Because the audience includes lawyers serving clients, the time savings claims cannot be treated solely as an organization's internal operating expense.
Outside Counsel Guideline Readiness
Can a firm get this vendor through a client’s AI clause without a bespoke negotiation?
LinkSquares' Data Processing Addendum, Security Addendum, Standard SLA and SaaS Terms of Service can all be read without an agreement. The subprocessor list the DPA points to sits in a help center article that requires a login. SOC 2 and security reports come through a request form, and the DPA also makes the SOC 2 Type II report available on written request. The outside language models behind LinkAI are not named, so a legal department cannot hand its own stakeholders a model provider list from LinkSquares' open material. New subprocessors come with at least 10 days' notice and 5 days to object.
Oneflow supplies a public DPA, global and North American service terms, an AI appendix and a subprocessor table with functions and processing locations. Optional AI suppliers include Legly and OpenAI, and administrators can control optional services. A public ISO certificate and statement of applicability support security diligence; SOC reports require an NDA. These materials help counsel explain data handling to a client.
They do not form a dedicated client AI disclosure package, and the generative AI confidentiality exclusion and conflicting regional descriptions require specific attention in any outside counsel approval process.
Court Disclosure Support
If a judge’s standing order requires an AI disclosure, can the product produce one?
LinkSquares records activity in an audit log that administrators filter by event, date and user and download as a spreadsheet, kept 365 days by default and longer on request. AI Legal Assistant redlines arrive as tracked changes with a comment explaining each deviation, and accepted changes save as a new version with its date and time. Smart Values show whether the AI extracted a value or a person entered it. Nothing records which model produced an output, and LinkSquares offers no disclosure template, since its output is contracts and reports rather than court filings.
AI Insights supports an export of portfolio analysis, and reviewers can inspect the contract passages associated with a playbook finding. Insights Premium adds an action report for internal discussion and negotiation. Enterprise also includes an account audit log, while signing workflows maintain transaction records. The published export instructions do not establish a complete record of model identity, prompt, output and human edits for each AI action.
These are useful contract administration records, but no court disclosure template or complete model provenance export is described for a later filing.

In summary
LinkSquares
LinkSquares combines contract intelligence, extraction and agreement workflows, with an API and supported business connections. Its Smart Values distinguish inconclusive findings from absent terms, and users can correct extracted information.
Oneflow

Questions buyers ask
How does LinkSquares express an extraction problem?
Its Smart Values distinguish an inconclusive result from a term that is not present and allow manual correction. Oneflow's review similarly identifies missing playbook clauses, though it does not publish the same extraction state scheme. From the AI Legal Index, based on each vendor's own published materials as of October 16, 2026. No vendor pays for placement.
Does Oneflow replace an enterprise contract data API?
It offers APIs and webhooks as well as detailed CRM synchronization. That does not establish that its endpoints, limits and data model are identical to LinkSquares' published API behavior. From the AI Legal Index, based on each vendor's own published materials as of October 16, 2026. No vendor pays for placement.
Are both services available with an EU only AI route?
LinkSquares describes AWS storage in the United States, with some model processing details unspecified. Oneflow stores core data in the EU but lists optional OpenAI extraction in the United States, so its enabled services determine the actual route. From the AI Legal Index, based on each vendor's own published materials as of October 16, 2026. No vendor pays for placement.
What separates the legal team's initial evaluation?
For teams testing how uncertain contract facts reach a reviewer, AI Legal Index highlights LinkSquares' explicit extraction states and Oneflow's missing clause view. Those mechanisms deserve separate examples instead of assuming that every unanswered field has the same meaning.
Neither vendor paid for inclusion, placement or a grade, and neither reviewed this page before it published. Everything on it comes from public material on the dates shown. How the index grades.
LinkSquares' provider restrictions and its own anonymized improvement permission are distinct commitments.
